Hanabusa for Hawai`i

This bill that was introduced by Colleen Hanabusa has frustrated dog owners around the state, such as myself. During a time when unemployment is at a high rate, people are struggling to keep their families afloat and living a comfortable life has been made extremely challenging due to the circumstances surrounding America's economy, Colleen Hanabusa wants to discuss Pit Bulls? People, we need to question this woman's thinking process and decide if she really is competent to hold such a position.

This bill is basically punishing people and their pets BEFORE a crime has been committed. That is unconstitutional. Does she not realize that our pets, regardless of breed or species, are an extension of our family? If this bill should pass, we have allowed our government to become a dictatorship. I thought we lived in the land of the free. We will then need to question, what next?

It is difficult to fathom people being allowed to own guns, but unable to own Pit Bulls. This bill has been incredibly offensive to all pet owners. Though one good thing has come out of this nonsense, many pet owners have come together and are paying much more attention to whose in what position and who votes which way. I highly doubt that anyone owning any kind of animal, will allow the same people who vote in favor of this bill a seat again. I know I won't.
